PRAYER WALKing

Prayer walking is a meaningful way to pray for people and the places we work and live in as we travel slowly, on foot. It also happens to remain an available option of prayer amidst a pandemic:).

From the 2021 TrueCity Conference & two weeks of prayer that followed, we both created and collaborated with other churches and ministries to produce quality prayer-walking resources.

Have a look through our A Visual Guide to Prayer Walking (just below) OR scroll down further to check out one of several place-specfic prayer walking maps.

If prayer walking is a new practice for you, you may wish to start by reading over this introduction.

A Visual Guide To Prayer Walking

To uses this guide:

  1. Download It

    Visual Guide: Print Version

Kids (and adults) might enjoy the “All Things Bright and Beautiful” Scavenger Hunt.

  2. Go outside

Go alone, as a family, or with friends - properly distanced, of course ;)

  3. Follow Prayer Prompts

Pray according to one of the many suggested prayer prompts. You may wish to follow the ones that are most applicable to your neighbourhood OR pick 3-5 at random and treat it as a prayer scavenger hunt (see below for a small sample).

4. Pray.

Pray whenever you are able. If you walk your kids to school, try pulling out a prayer prompt (or two) and pray with your kids on the way. Do you need to walk to get work? Pray. If you drive, why not pray as you travel through town? Do you have a dog to walk? Pray. Do you like early morning or late evening strolls? Why not pray.
